As part of the program, the delegation donated one washing machine, one television screen, a home vegetable garden project, first-aid kits, school supplies and essential daily necessities to the Long Hoa Center, with a total value of more than VND 60 million. Nearly VND 20 million of the contribution came from SITC's employees.
The donated items were intended not only to address immediate needs but also to contribute to improving the children's living environment and conditions for development. In particular, the home vegetable garden provided an additional space where the children could participate in hands-on activities while contributing to the center's food supply.
From a corporate social responsibility (CSR) perspective, the financial contributions and direct participation of SITC employees demonstrated how employee engagement could become an integral part of a company's community initiatives. Rather than focusing solely on donations, the program created an opportunity for both the company and its employees to participate in addressing specific community needs.
The program also marked the second consecutive year that SITC had partnered with Fly To Sky to implement social responsibility and community-oriented initiatives. Continued engagement over multiple years reflected an approach to CSR that emphasized long-term commitment rather than isolated charitable activities.
Beyond material support, initiatives for children in special circumstances also highlighted the importance of long-term community engagement. For social protection centers, essential equipment, educational supplies and improvements to living spaces can help reduce operational pressures while creating more favorable conditions for children's care and development.
Corporate participation in such initiatives can therefore be assessed not only by the scale of financial contributions, but also by the ability to identify actual needs, mobilize resources and maintain long-term community commitments. This approach can help CSR activities become more closely connected to specific social issues and generate more sustainable value.
SITC is a transportation and logistics group operating across the Asia-Pacific region. In Vietnam, New SITC Container Lines Vietnam Co., Ltd. is its joint-venture entity, operating at major ports and providing container transportation services. Alongside its business operations, the company has also carried out community-oriented initiatives in areas including charity, education, environmental protection and support for children.
The 16th “Sharing Love” Journey at the Long Hoa Center demonstrated how a CSR initiative could begin with the specific needs of a community. When corporate resources are connected with actual needs and employee participation, short-term assistance can become part of a broader effort to improve the living, learning and development conditions of children in special circumstances.
