The program was sponsored by Maybank – Hanoi Branch, in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Tam Chuc Ward and the Board of Management of Tam Chuc Primary School.
The festival took place in a joyful and welcoming atmosphere, featuring a variety of activities for students. It marked the official opening of the facility, providing a new space where children can read, explore knowledge, engage in meaningful learning experiences, and develop a love of books.
Guided by the message “From Small Pages to Big Dreams,” Read To Grow aims to expand students’ access to books, encourage reading habits, develop their thinking skills, and nurture their curiosity and passion for learning. The facility is expected to become a welcoming, creative, and sustainable reading space that will serve the school community for years to come.
As part of the festival, in addition to the symbolic handover and ribbon-cutting ceremony, students participated in the “Exchange Books for Plants” activity, bringing used items such as plastic bottles, aluminum cans, old books, notebooks, and scrap paper to exchange for green plants and environmentally friendly products. They also had the opportunity to make recycled flowers from plastic bottles, helping raise their awareness of reuse, waste reduction, and environmental protection.
Books are not only a source of knowledge but also one of the first gateways through which children discover the world, develop their thinking skills, expand their imagination, and gradually shape their own dreams.
The name “Read To Grow” reflects a simple yet meaningful message: every book a child opens can offer something new to discover, a fresh perspective to consider, and another opportunity to imagine their future.
Particularly during the primary school years, developing a love of reading and establishing reading habits from an early age play an important role in children's learning and development. A welcoming, child-friendly, and accessible reading environment can help transform reading from a school-related task into a natural part of students’ everyday lives.
Through Read To Grow, Fly To Sky and its partners aim to help create a supportive learning environment, promote a culture of reading, and provide meaningful experiences for students. Although the festival has come to an end, the journey of books at Tam Chuc Primary School has only just begun. The reading space opened today may help nurture children's dreams and aspirations for years to come.
The facility also marks Fly To Sky’s 156th library, representing another milestone in the mission of the White Dove Bookshelf Project to bring books and a culture of reading to schools, social protection institutions, hospitals, and communities across Vietnam. Each completed library is another seed of opportunity planted, allowing knowledge to spread, dreams to take root, and positive values to continue growing.
